    deskHPSDR 2.8.5

    Changes (all OS):

    • Improve discovery with new option "last-device reuse" and remember the last selected network SDR by protocol, IP and MAC
    • Route TX monitor audio to SDR hardware outputs (only if SDR device has an own audio interface)
    • add configurable direction inversion for MIDI controls
    • do not count an empty RX audio ring as an XRUN during transmit and preserve normal RX underrun detection and TX-to-RX audio reprime handling
    • improve UDP packet loss detection and display
    • Serialize all Protocol 2 UDP sends that use the shared data socket

    WINDOWS 2.8.5: Optimize P1 and P2 network buffer managment and network traffic prioritization if using higher device samplerates
    WINDOWS 2.8.5a: Harden Protocol 1 and Protocol 2 network timing
    WINDOWS 2.8.5b: improve UDP packet loss detection and display
    WINDOWS 2.8.5c: Change simple mouse wheel function to CRTL + mouse wheel / CTRL + SHIFT + mouse wheel (prevent operator errors)
    During optimize some WINDOWS registry entries in relation to network settings the Installer request now a restart after installation.

    The x86_64 Intel version is build against Xcode 26.3 and corresonding clang under macOS 15 "Sequoia".
    The ARM version is build with the lastest Xcode 27.0 version / clang currently under macOS 26 "Tahoe".
    The Windows version (64bit native) is build against MSYS2 UCRT64 under Windows 11 Pro.

    Note: deskHPSDR get seamless updates. The used version numbering (e.g. 2.7.40) is only a requirement for the release option at Github. But the crucial factor is the commit state, which is part of the download filename. Compare it, from time to time I replace the downloads with newer deskHPSDR versions, but without changing the actual version number. Support always required the use of the latest deskHPSDR version.

    Note 2: I never create or publish deskHPSDR binaries or appimages for Linux.
